All the news about the Coronavirus outbreak in Asia is causing a lot of anxiety everywhere. Much as we would like to protect ourselves from this disease out the outside by watching our own personal hygiene, boosting our immune system at this time is equally important.

Other than fish emulsion the girls are feeding on, I also give them kombucha drink. For the past 1 year, I have been making homemade kombucha at home for our family's consumption.
Kombucha is a fermented drink made from green or black tea (or both), sugar, yeast and bacteria. It's made by adding a colony of live bacteria and yeast, known as a SCOBY (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast) to sweetened tea and leaving it to ferment for a few weeks until it turns into a slightly sweet and tart beverage that's separated from the SCOBY and then bottled up.
What can I say? It's easy and super affordable to make at home while you easily will have to pay for SGD7 or so for a bottle of 400ml at the grocery store. We always make a bulk out of a single brew and can easily our family for a few weeks depending on our consumption rate.
I get questions whether this drink is suitable for kids as there is alcohol content in it. I started with by feeding a tablespoon and from there, the intake slowly increase. Usually, they will drink about 1 8oz cup or 230ml each time (once every few days). Our favorite flavor is definitely blueberries with mint leaves. It tastes almost like fizzy Ribena and best drink cold.
